Argentina’s informal dollar, known as the blue dollar, traded at ARS 1,505 for buying and ARS 1,525 for selling on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The move marks a reversal from earlier in the week, when the parallel market rate had compressed toward the official exchange rate, suggesting a temporary stabilization of the peso.

The widening spread indicates that pressure on the local currency is building again.

Earlier this week, the blue dollar traded at a narrow premium to the official rate, which was set at ARS 1,450.

That compression had been interpreted as a sign of easing demand for dollars in the informal market.

The current levels, however, show that buyers are once again willing to pay a significant premium to access foreign currency outside the regulated banking system.
