Argentina's foreign exchange market is showing renewed signs of stabilization, with the premium on the parallel dollar shrinking to record lows.

The convergence between the official rate and the unregulated "blue" dollar suggests that market participants are increasingly confident in the central bank's ability to manage liquidity, even as strict capital controls remain in place.

This narrow spread represents a significant shift from previous months, when the premium often exceeded 50% or more, reflecting deep distrust in the official rate.

According to Clarín, the official dollar traded at ARS 1,470 for purchase and ARS 1,520 for sale in banks on Friday.

Meanwhile, the parallel market saw the blue dollar quoted at ARS 1,510 for purchase and ARS 1,530 for sale.

This narrow spread represents a significant shift from previous months, when the premium often exceeded 50% or more, reflecting deep distrust in the official rate.

The narrowing gap follows a period of intense volatility in Argentina's currency markets.
