Private investment commitments for Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara, have reached US$4.56 billion, according to the Nusantara Capital Authority.
The authority confirmed that 67 private investors have pledged a total of Rp74.54 trillion toward the development of the administrative center in East Kalimantan.
The influx of private capital underscores the government’s strategy to leverage non-state funding for the massive relocation project, which aims to ease congestion in Jakarta and stimulate economic growth in eastern Indonesia.
The commitment from 67 distinct investors suggests broadening interest across the private sector, moving beyond initial state-led financing phases.
This development aligns with a broader trend of foreign and domestic capital flowing into Indonesian assets.
Earlier in 2026, Indonesia’s capital markets saw initial public offerings raise IDR 125.7 trillion (approximately US$7.8 billion) in the first half of the year.
