About Handelsavisen

Handelsavisen is a global financial-intelligence newsroom built from Norway. The name is Norwegian for "the trade newspaper."

The substance is something the Nordic financial press doesn't have yet — a continuously publishing, English-first financial news and market-intelligence service, built on automated infrastructure and strict editorial controls, with a financial-data backbone that connects every article to live market context.

What we cover

Markets, macro and companies. Commodities, shipping, energy and technology. Interest rates, currencies and geopolitics. Regulation and policy — but only where they affect markets, sectors or companies.

We do not cover politics for its own sake. We cover financial intelligence.

Every article answers four questions:

  1. What happened?
  2. Why does it matter?
  3. How are markets reacting?
  4. What should readers watch next?

Why we exist

Most financial media sells you headlines. We built the data layer first.

Handelsavisen is structured around a financial-data backbone — live market data, fundamentals, sector analysis, calendar events and structured analysis pipelines — with a fast editorial layer on top. Coverage goes beyond rewritten wire copy. Every article connects to market reaction, company context, sector benchmarks and relevant prior coverage.

This is the newsroom you would build if you started from the data, not from the desk.

Editorial discipline

Handelsavisen publishes at speed, but not without control.

  • Attribution belongs in the article, not as lazy headline framing.
  • Market prices are Handelsavisen's own data voice.
  • Confirmed information is distinguished from developing situations.
  • Politics appears only when financially relevant.
  • Article structure, taxonomy, source classification and verification status are controlled at every stage.

Speed with discipline.

Reader experience

Handelsavisen is built for readers who want density, not decoration.

Open a company page and you see where that ticker sits against its sector — not just its own chart. Sector pages rank constituents by the signals that matter. Coverage pages surface related articles, benchmarks and structured guidance on what to watch next. Every layer is designed for fast scanning first and deeper context when you need it.

Complex financial developments, made clearer without being made shallow.

Our mission

Handelsavisen exists to deliver clear financial news, market context and economic understanding — faster, sharper and with less noise.

Built from Norway, for global markets.
