Beauty reported a near-doubling of profits for its fiscal first quarter, driven largely by a $50 million cash windfall from US tariff refunds.
The cosmetics company disclosed the boost in its earnings release on Wednesday, marking a significant one-time contribution to its bottom line for the three months ended June 30.
Royal Philips, for instance, recently strengthened its earnings forecast after receiving €186 million ($211 million) in similar tariff refunds from the United States.
The refund reflects a broader shift in US trade enforcement, where previously imposed duties on imported goods are being returned to companies.
