Indian refiners have moved to secure significant volumes of crude oil, purchasing 1 million barrels of Oman crude and 4 million barrels of West African crude through tender processes, according to trade sources.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) was among the buyers for the Oman cargo, while other unnamed Indian processors secured the West African volumes.

The companies typically do not comment on commercial trades.

The purchases underscore the continued appetite for crude among Indian processors, who are actively managing feedstock supplies.

The move adds to recent activity in the region, where state-owned refiners Indian Oil Corp and Hindustan Petroleum Corp have collectively purchased approximately 7 million barrels of crude oil through similar tender processes, as reported by trade sources.

These transactions highlight the scale of India's import requirements and the competitive nature of the tender market.
