Manoj Kumar Dwivedi has been appointed as the new chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the appointment on Wednesday, confirming the senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer's new role.

Dwivedi, a 1997-batch IAS officer, succeeds Keshav Chandra, who left the position to take up a role at the Ministry of Mines.

The change in leadership marks a transition for the municipal body responsible for civic services in New Delhi's central areas.

The appointment follows standard administrative procedures for municipal leadership changes in the capital region.

Dwivedi's background in public administration is expected to inform his approach to managing the council's operations and service delivery mandates.
