The ruble-denominated Moscow Exchange (MOEX) Index fell 0.69% to close at 2,285.88 points on Thursday, extending a streak of losses that has weighed on investor sentiment in Russian equities.

The dollar-denominated RTS Index underperformed, shedding 1.27% to finish the session at 884.56 points.

BCS World of Investments noted that the battle for the 2,300-point level is likely to continue, though the upcoming weekend may dampen overall trading volumes.

The decline marks the third consecutive day of red closes for the benchmark indices.

On Wednesday, the MOEX Index dropped 1.53% to 2,186.75 points, following a sharper 1.88% fall to 2,145.65 points on Tuesday.

The persistent downward trajectory suggests that selling pressure remains a dominant theme, with traders struggling to find support near the 2,300-point threshold.
