Moldova’s National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has announced a temporary reduction in maximum retail fuel prices, effective from August 8 to August 10.
The regulator set the new ceiling for 95-octane gasoline at 30.05 lei per litre, a decrease of 0.21 lei from the previous period.
Diesel prices were capped at 32.20 lei per litre, down by 0.29 lei.
The adjustment follows a broader easing of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which has contributed to a stabilization in global energy markets.
This move marks a reversal from recent trends where Moldovan motorists faced rising costs, with previous ANRE decisions pushing both gasoline and diesel above the 30 lei threshold.
The agency’s decision underscores the direct link between international crude benchmarks and local regulated pricing in the small European economy.
