Gold prices in Nepal’s domestic market surged by Rs 8,000 per tola on Wednesday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
The move reflects sustained buying pressure in the region, where local premiums often track international spot trends alongside currency fluctuations and import dynamics.
The increase follows a similar upward trajectory in neighboring Pakistan, where gold prices climbed to Rs 433,836 per tola earlier in the week, marking a gain of Rs 4,600 from the previous session.
These regional moves highlight the persistent strength in precious metals demand across South Asia, even as global spot prices fluctuate.
In Nepal, the latest jump continues a recent trend of sharp weekly gains.
On the final trading day of the previous week, prices had already reached Rs 290,700 per tola, up Rs 7,200 in that session alone.
