Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has released video footage showing a Russian explosive drone circling and detonating at a vegetable market in Kherson, injuring a local vendor.
The president described the incident on X as a deliberate "safari" by Russian forces targeting civilians, highlighting the continued degradation of safety in occupied and frontline territories.
The incident adds to a pattern of asymmetric warfare and infrastructure targeting that has persisted throughout the conflict.
Earlier this year, Russian strikes damaged a production facility for General Cherry, one of Ukraine’s largest manufacturers of first-person-view (FPV) drones, according to company founder Yaroslav Gryshyn.
Conversely, Ukrainian forces have extended their reach, striking the Omsk oil refinery in western Siberia, Russia’s largest fuel production facility, located more than 2,500 kilometers from the front lines.
These developments reinforce the persistent geopolitical risk premium embedded in energy and shipping markets.
