Vedanta Aluminium is seeking a ₹13,500 crore long-term loan from a consortium of Indian lenders to refinance debt inherited from its parent company following a recent group demerger.
The facility, backed by Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank, carries tenors ranging from six and a half to seven years.
Consolidated net profit for the broader Vedanta Limited group also jumped 72% to ₹5,473 crore in the same period, signaling robust demand in the metals sector.
The proceeds will be used to replace existing obligations, allowing the newly separated entity to establish an independent capital structure.
This move follows the promoter's earlier sale of a ₹2,149 crore stake to reduce parent debt.
The refinancing effort comes as Vedanta Aluminium reports strong operational momentum.
The company recently posted record financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with net profit surging 205% year-on-year.
