A surge in proposed data centre developments in Visakhapatnam is projected to generate more than 51,800 jobs and stimulate demand for 2.33 crore square feet of housing, according to a report by real estate consultancy Square Yards.
The expansion is expected to extend beyond the tech sector, driving significant growth in commercial real estate, logistics, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
This broader economic activity is strengthening Visakhapatnam’s position as a primary investment destination within Andhra Pradesh.
The development aligns with the city’s existing infrastructure strengths.
Visakhapatnam Port has already established itself as a critical gateway for India’s seafood industry, handling more than half of the country’s marine product exports in the 2025 financial year.
The new data centre investments are likely to leverage this logistical backbone while diversifying the local economic base.
