Vistara Capital Partners Ltd. has secured a $125 million commitment from Vancouver billionaire Ryan Beedie for its new technology-focused fund.
Beedie also acquired a 50% stake in the firm, deepening his ties to the Vancouver-based asset manager he has long supported.
The investment underscores Beedie’s confidence in the Canadian technology sector and Vistara’s track record under the leadership of Randy Garg.
Garg, who previously managed Beedie’s personal wealth, has built Vistara into one of Canada’s most consistent performers in tech private equity.
The new capital injection provides the firm with significant dry powder to pursue growth-stage opportunities in a competitive market.
This move comes as private equity activity remains robust in Canada, with firms like Verso Capital recently completing debut acquisitions in the mid-market services segment.
