Cleartrip has launched Bus 2.0, a significant expansion of its ground transport booking capabilities that now covers 6.5 lakh routes across 6,000 cities in India.

The Flipkart-owned online travel platform aims to integrate bus bookings seamlessly with its existing flight, train, and hotel offerings, positioning itself as a comprehensive multi-modal travel solution.

The move is designed to capture growing demand from Gen Z and younger travelers who increasingly prefer flexible, cost-effective ground transport options.

By aggregating a vast network of bus operators, Cleartrip seeks to deepen user engagement and increase transaction frequency among its core demographic.

This expansion comes as Indian bus manufacturers accelerate their push into electrification and premium mobility segments, as seen at the recent Prawaas 5.0 exhibition.

Simultaneously, India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is developing new "airport-style" private bus ports, starting with a facility in Nagpur, to improve infrastructure and passenger experience.
