DEPA Eforias has successfully delivered 500 GWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bulgartransgaz at the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Alexandroupoli, Greece.
The transaction was executed following DEPA's victory in an international tender organized through the Balkan Gas Hub, marking the first commercial LNG delivery to Bulgaria via this Greek infrastructure node.
This delivery underscores the growing strategic importance of the Alexandroupoli FSRU as a critical entry point for gas supplies into the Balkan region.
By securing the tender through the Balkan Gas Hub, DEPA reinforces Greece's position as a key energy transit hub, diversifying supply routes for neighboring countries and reducing reliance on traditional pipeline infrastructure.
