A Mozambican business delegation visited ExxonMobil’s campus in Houston to advance local content initiatives tied to the country’s developing liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.
The trip, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mozambique (CTA), aims to prepare domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for integration into the supply chains of major energy projects currently underway in the country.
The visit underscores Mozambique’s ongoing effort to ensure that its burgeoning LNG industry benefits the local economy through increased participation by domestic suppliers.
By facilitating direct engagement between local businesses and international operators like ExxonMobil, the CTA is seeking to bridge the gap between global project requirements and local capacity.
This development aligns with a broader diplomatic and economic push by Mozambique to attract foreign investment into its energy sector.
Spanish conglomerate Pamesa has recently expressed interest in investing in the country’s LNG sector, while Mozambique’s president is scheduled to attend the EurAfrican Forum in Cascais as a guest of honor.
