Apex African Gas Nigeria Limited has commissioned a new 70-tonnes-per-day Air Separation Unit plant in Lagos, increasing its combined production capacity to 110 tonnes per day.

The facility marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy, enhancing its ability to meet growing demand for industrial gases and liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the region.

83 billion in 2023, according to figures released by the Presidency.

The move comes as Nigeria's gross gas production has climbed to 7.63 billion standard cubic feet per day, up from approximately 6.83 billion in 2023, according to figures released by the Presidency.

This broader production recovery supports the case for increased downstream capacity and export potential, with Apex African Gas positioning itself to capture a larger share of the market.

The commissioning of the new plant aligns with the government's efforts to boost domestic gas utilization and reduce flaring.

By expanding its production capacity, Apex African Gas is likely to benefit from improved supply chain efficiency and potentially higher margins as demand for LNG and industrial gases continues to grow in West Africa.
