Polish construction group Budimex has been awarded a contract worth approximately PLN 146 million to build the foundations for the passenger terminal at the Central Communication Port (CPK).
The agreement, signed on Monday, represents one of the first major construction milestones for the long-delayed national infrastructure project.
Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak confirmed that earthworks are set to commence shortly, signaling a shift from preliminary planning to physical development.
The contract specifically covers the foundational structures required for the main terminal building, a critical prerequisite for the broader construction phase.
This development follows recent announcements by CPK regarding an upward revision to the scale of its flagship Port Polska project, particularly concerning the airport component in Baranów.
The state-owned developer has been working to accelerate timelines and secure key partners to bring the ambitious hub to fruition.
