China’s Ministry of Commerce has imposed sanctions on 10 US technology companies, prohibiting them from exporting dual-use items with both civilian and military applications to the United States.

The move marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing trade and defense dispute between Beijing and Washington, coming just weeks after the US Pentagon added several Chinese firms to its blacklist.

The sanctions target firms involved in critical technology sectors, including defense and rare earths mining, signaling Beijing’s intent to retaliate against US restrictions on advanced semiconductor and defense-related exports.

By blocking these dual-use items, China aims to disrupt supply chains that rely on Chinese components for US military and industrial applications.

This development follows a broader pattern of tit-for-tat measures between the two economic powers.

Earlier this year, China sanctioned dozens of US companies, including major defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and General Dynamics, in response to perceived US aggression in trade policy.
