Diana Shipping has secured a new charter for its Panamax vessel, the Ismene, locking in a daily rate of $15,750.
The agreement, reported by Naftemporiki, sees the ship chartered to Paralos Shipping Pte. Ltd. with a term extending to at least May 15, 2027, and no later than July 15, 2027.
The rate is subject to a 5% commission payable to third parties.

The deal underscores resilience in the dry-bulk segment as shipping companies navigate heightened geopolitical risks.
While energy flows face disruption from tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, dry-bulk operators are securing longer-term contracts to hedge against volatility.
The Ismene’s charter rate sits within a range that suggests owners are prioritizing stability over speculative peaks, a strategy that has gained traction as route uncertainty persists.
