Shareholders of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) have ratified the appointment of Jeffrey Hendrik as chief executive officer, the exchange confirmed on Monday.

Hendrik will lead the market operator for the 2026-2030 period, marking a new chapter in the exchange's strategic direction.

The leadership change comes as Indonesian equities showed early strength.

The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) opened higher on Monday, climbing 39.91 points or 0.65% to trade at 6,217.05.

The benchmark index moved in tandem with regional peers, reflecting positive investor sentiment across Southeast Asian markets.

Hendrik's four-year mandate will oversee the exchange during a period of continued capital market development in Indonesia.
