Iran has ruled out any technical working group meetings with the United States for the remainder of the current week, according to state media reports.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi made the statement on Monday, clarifying that the timeline refers to the Iranian week ending on Friday.

The comment underscores a continued diplomatic standoff between Tehran and Washington despite earlier preliminary agreements aimed at de-escalating Middle East tensions.

While direct US-Iran channels remain closed for now, Iran confirmed it has been discussing the management of the Strait of Hormuz with Oman.

These bilateral talks, held in Muscat, represent the first such engagement between the two neighbors since the preliminary peace accord between Tehran and Washington.

The move suggests Iran is seeking regional stability mechanisms that do not rely on immediate US involvement, potentially aiming to reassure key energy consumers and shipping operators about transit security.
