Mari Energies has commenced natural gas deliveries from its Shams-1 discovery to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
The supply, effective June 19, 2026, involves a volume of 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) and follows approval from the Pakistani government.
The start of production at Shams-1 represents a tangible addition to Pakistan's domestic gas supply.
For SNGPL, the new feedstock helps bolster the national grid's inventory, which has faced pressure from seasonal demand and limited import capacity.
The development underscores the growing role of independent producers in meeting the country's energy needs.
This move comes as regional peers also seek to expand output.
