Saudi Arabia has formally expressed solidarity with Qatar and extended condolences following a deadly explosion at a gas processing facility in the Ras Laffan industrial complex.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the statement shortly after reports confirmed the incident, which has resulted in significant casualties and operational disruptions at one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) hubs.

The blast, which occurred at the Barzan LNG plant, has killed at least 13 people and injured 66 others, according to Qatari Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi.

The facility is a critical node in global LNG supply chains, and the incident has raised immediate concerns about potential shortfalls in export volumes.

Markets are closely monitoring the situation for signs of prolonged downtime or broader supply chain impacts.

This development adds to the growing list of operational risks facing the global energy sector.
