The Committee of the Jewish Communities of Venezuela has launched an emergency fundraising campaign to address the urgent humanitarian needs arising from a recent devastating earthquake.

The initiative aims to support approximately 80 Jewish families who have lost their homes, with another 200 families reportedly too afraid to return to their residences due to safety concerns.

Community leaders stated that the organization is currently assisting all affected households in the Caracas area.

The fundraising effort comes as the broader humanitarian crisis in Venezuela intensifies.

Back-to-back seismic events have killed at least 589 people and left thousands injured across northern cities, where residents have been seen digging through rubble to search for loved ones.

The destruction has created a complex environment for relief operations, with specific minority communities facing compounded risks of displacement and insecurity.
