Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has declared that Kyiv will determine which European representatives participate in any future negotiations with Russia.

The statement, made in an interview with Ukrainian media published late Sunday, underscores Kyiv’s insistence on retaining sovereignty over the diplomatic process as peace efforts gain momentum.

The assertion comes as Ukraine attempts to reinvigorate stalled peace initiatives while maintaining leverage over its Western partners.

By reserving the right to approve European delegates, Zelenskiy is signaling that Kyiv will not accept a unified European negotiating team imposed from Brussels or Washington without its explicit consent.

This stance adds a layer of complexity to diplomatic coordination among NATO and EU allies.

The move follows Zelenskiy’s announcement that he will attend the upcoming G7, European Union, and NATO summits.
