US-based AI chipmaker Cerebras Systems has announced a major expansion of its European footprint, aiming to bring its first data center capacity online in the region by the end of 2026.
The company plans to scale this to 200 megawatts of AI compute capacity by the end of 2027, with initial deployments focused on France and the Nordic countries.
This move positions Cerebras as a direct challenger to sector leader Nvidia in the rapidly growing European artificial intelligence infrastructure market.
The expansion comes as Cerebras highlights what it describes as "extraordinary" demand for its computing solutions across the continent.
By establishing a physical presence in Europe, the startup seeks to capture a larger share of the data-center build-out, offering an alternative to the dominant supply chains currently anchored by Nvidia.
The strategy reflects a broader trend among AI infrastructure providers to localize capacity in response to regional demand and regulatory considerations.
