Elenger and Alexela, the two dominant natural gas suppliers in Estonia, have announced they will lower prices for household customers starting in August.

The move comes as domestic energy providers adjust their pricing structures in response to shifting wholesale market conditions.

The decision by these major retailers reflects a broader easing of pressure on European gas consumers.

While wholesale benchmarks have remained volatile, the transmission of lower costs to end-users in smaller markets like Estonia indicates that the peak of the recent price cycle may be passing for residential segments.

This development aligns with similar moves elsewhere in the energy sector.

In Brazil, state-controlled Petrobras recently capped natural gas price increases for August, aiming to soften the impact of international benchmark costs on domestic consumers.
