A high-pressure gas pipeline rupture in Buenos Aires has triggered a major emergency response and significant traffic disruptions on the Dellepiane Highway.

The incident, which occurred Thursday afternoon during roadworks on the highway's collector, forced the closure of lanes heading toward the city center.

Metrogas personnel and city firefighters are currently on site working to contain the leak and secure the area.

While the event is localized, it arrives against a backdrop of heightened sensitivity to global gas infrastructure risks.

Markets remain on edge following a catastrophic explosion at a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility in Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial city earlier this week.

That incident raised immediate questions about potential supply disruptions in the global LNG market, with operations only recently resumed before the blast occurred.
