Malaysian authorities have confiscated more than 75,000 cryptocurrency mining machines during a series of nationwide raids conducted between 2022 and May 2026.
The enforcement actions, which spanned over 3,000 operations, resulted in the arrest of 629 individuals suspected of running illegal mining facilities.
The figures were disclosed by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri R.
Sivarasa, highlighting the scale of the government’s efforts to curb unauthorized energy consumption and unregulated digital asset activities.
The crackdown targets operators who bypass legal frameworks, often utilizing residential or commercial power grids without proper licensing or safety compliance.
This sustained enforcement campaign underscores Malaysia’s tightening regulatory stance on the cryptocurrency sector.
