Marksans Pharma has agreed to acquire Germany-based ABCnow GmbH for €892,384, a move designed to strengthen its commercial footprint in the European market.

The transaction secures a dedicated front-end sales and marketing infrastructure that the Indian generic drugmaker will use to distribute its portfolio of products manufactured across India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The acquisition represents a targeted expansion of Marksans’ European distribution capabilities rather than a large-scale consolidation play.

By integrating ABCnow’s existing network, Marksans aims to bypass the typical friction of establishing new commercial channels in Germany, a key market for pharmaceutical imports.

The deal allows the company to leverage local expertise and established relationships to push its generic offerings more effectively.

This move aligns with a broader trend of Indian pharmaceutical companies seeking to deepen their direct-to-market presence in Europe, reducing reliance on third-party distributors.
