Ola Electric is facing renewed legal pressure from its supply chain as two component suppliers have filed insolvency petitions against the electric vehicle maker's subsidiary.

The claims, lodged with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), allege payment defaults totaling ₹40 crore ($4.8 million).

The filings mark a significant escalation in the relationship between the Indian EV startup and its vendors, moving the conflict from commercial negotiations to formal insolvency proceedings.

The company has pushed back against the characterization of the disputes as simple payment failures.

Ola Electric described the matter as a commercial disagreement rooted in alleged quality issues with the components supplied.

The EV maker stated it had already initiated its own legal action against the suppliers, suggesting the withholding of payments was a response to defective goods rather than liquidity constraints.
