Pakistan and Croatia have opened discussions on potential collaboration between their port authorities, marking a new dimension in Islamabad’s efforts to expand its maritime trade network.

The talks, held during a delegation-level meeting with visiting Croatian officials, focused on identifying opportunities for infrastructure cooperation and logistical integration.

Deputy Prime Minister Asad Umar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties, framing the port dialogue as part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity and trade efficiency.

The move comes as Pakistan actively seeks to diversify its maritime partnerships beyond traditional allies.

In recent months, Islamabad has strengthened defense and maritime security ties with Sri Lanka, focusing on disaster management and naval coordination.

Simultaneously, discussions with the United States have aimed at expanding cooperation in the maritime sector, particularly regarding investment and trade opportunities.
