<p>President Ferdinand &quot;Bongbong&quot; Marcos Jr. visited the Navotas Fish Port Complex in Navotas City on Saturday to check on its operations in a bid to ensure food security and steady livelihood for fishermen.</p><p>Marcos was accompanied by Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.</p><p>&quot;Mahalaga ang Navotas Fish Port Complex bilang isa sa mga pangunahing bagsakan at sentro ng bentahan ng isda sa bansa,&quot; Marcos said.</p><p>(The Navotas Fish Port Complex is important as one of the primary centers of fish trade in the country.)</p><p>The President said he made the visit to check on Navotas Fish Port Complex&#39;s rehabilitation of its facilities to ensure that the infrastructure could serve the growing needs of the fishing sector.</p><p>&quot;Kaya personal nating sinuri ang patuloy na rehabilitasyon ng mga pasilidad nito upang matiyak na nakakasabay ang ating imprastraktura sa lumalaking pangangailangan ng sektor ng pangingisda,&quot; he said.</p><p>(That is why I personally checked the continuing rehabilitation of its facilities to make sure our infrastructure is able to meet the increasing needs of the fishing sector.)</p><p>Marcos said that a modern and orderly port will facilitate safe and more efficient operations which will in turn improve the livelihood of fishermen, traders, and others working in the industry.</p><p>It will also ensure continued supply of quality food for the public, he added. <strong>&mdash;KG GMA News</strong></p>.
