Renaissance Africa Energy Company has announced a crude oil discovery at the JK-004 exploration well offshore Nigeria.

The development signals potential upside for the country's long-term production capacity, even as immediate supply implications remain limited.

The discovery comes as Nigeria's crude output has shown signs of stabilization.

According to OPEC data and Reuters surveys, Nigerian production rose in both May and June, reaching approximately 1.7 million barrels per day in May.

This marked a 15-month high and pushed output above the country's assigned OPEC quota, following sustained improvements in pipeline security and operational efficiency.

While the JK-004 find is a positive signal for the sector, it is an exploration result rather than a production-ready asset.
