Russian electronics and robotics manufacturer Gagaring has extended job offers to employees of Volkswagen who are at risk of redundancy, according to reports from TASS.

The Russian firm stated that it is willing to hire specialists from the German automaker, offering permanent employment contracts, competitive salaries, and comprehensive relocation support for employees and their families.

The outreach comes as Volkswagen's supervisory board meets in Wolfsburg to discuss a severe cost-cutting proposal.

Internal documents suggest the company is considering doubling its planned workforce reductions to 100,000 jobs over the next decade.

The restructuring plan also includes the potential closure of four production facilities in Germany, marking one of the most significant industrial contractions in the country's recent history.

Gagaring's move underscores the global ripple effects of Volkswagen's restructuring efforts.
