Russian military forces have struck gas stations and fuel tankers in the occupied part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, including in Kramatorsk, according to reports from the state-affiliated news agency TASS.

The Russian defense ministry stated that the facilities were being used to support Ukrainian army units, marking another escalation in the targeting of logistical infrastructure in the region.

The attacks highlight the ongoing vulnerability of energy supply chains in eastern Ukraine, where fuel distribution networks remain a strategic priority for both sides.

For market participants, such incidents reinforce the persistent risk to regional logistics and energy flows, contributing to a broader environment of shipping and trade uncertainty.

This development comes amid heightened attention on global shipping risks, including recent incidents in the Strait of Hormuz that have fueled repricing in tanker markets.

The strike on fuel infrastructure in the Donetsk region follows a pattern of attacks on energy-related assets, including a recent incident in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region where a gas station was hit, resulting in casualties.
