Siemens has announced a €300 million investment to expand its electrical switchgear production capacity at facilities in Frankfurt and Offenbach, Germany.
The Munich-based industrial conglomerate stated that the capital expenditure will support the creation of 700 new jobs, reinforcing its manufacturing footprint in the Hesse region.
The expansion is directly linked to surging demand for data center infrastructure, driven by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
Siemens identified the need for robust power distribution systems as a critical bottleneck for new AI facilities, positioning its switchgear division to capture a larger share of this growing market segment.
This move underscores the tangible industrial impact of the AI boom, extending beyond semiconductor manufacturing to the underlying power grid components required to support high-density computing.
The investment reflects a broader trend among European industrial firms to scale production in response to digital infrastructure requirements.
