Sri Lanka’s Customs Department has collected Rs. 1,373.7 billion in revenue during the first half of 2026, surpassing its initial target for the period by Rs. 313 billion.

The figures, released by the customs authority, underscore a sustained improvement in fiscal inflows for the island nation.

The strong performance builds on a streak of positive monthly data.

In June alone, customs revenue exceeded its monthly target by 22 percent, marking the sixth consecutive month of outperformance.

This consistent trend suggests that structural reforms and improved collection efficiency are yielding tangible results for the government’s budget.

For investors and traders monitoring Sri Lanka’s sovereign risk profile, these figures are a positive signal.
