Swedish motorists are seeing immediate relief at the pump after the government implemented a sharp reduction in fuel taxes.

The measure, which cuts the levy by three Swedish kronor per liter, has pushed Swedish fuel prices to among the lowest levels in Europe, according to reports from NRK.

The tax adjustment is designed to alleviate cost-of-living pressures and has been widely covered in both Swedish and Norwegian media.

With prices now significantly lower than in neighboring countries, the move is expected to drive increased cross-border traffic, particularly in border regions like Strömstad, where Norwegian consumers frequently shop for cheaper fuel.

This development adds to a broader trend of easing energy costs across parts of Europe.

In Portugal, for instance, pump prices have also begun to decline, with diesel dropping by 10 cents per liter and gasoline falling by 5 cents.
