The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has sanctioned the merger of JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals with Torrent Pharmaceuticals, clearing a critical regulatory hurdle for the deal.

The tribunal approved the scheme of amalgamation under Sections 230 to 232 of the Companies Act, as confirmed in separate regulatory filings by both companies on Monday.

This approval marks a decisive step in one of the largest consolidation deals in the Indian pharmaceutical sector.

With the NCLT's blessing, the path is now clear for the formal integration of JB Chemicals into Torrent Pharma, allowing the combined entity to proceed with operational and financial consolidation.

The deal has been closely watched by investors as a significant move in the industry's competitive landscape.

The removal of this regulatory uncertainty allows both companies to focus on executing the merger and realizing the anticipated synergies.
