The US Treasury Department has extended a license allowing the Croatian pipeline operator JANAF to supply feedstock to Serbia’s state-owned oil company NIS until July 31.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) confirmed the extension, which permits the continued flow of Iranian crude through the Adriatic pipeline to the Serbian refinery.

This move ensures that NIS can maintain its production levels without interruption during the current licensing period.

The extension is significant for regional energy security, as it prevents a potential supply shock in the Balkans.

NIS relies on this feedstock for a substantial portion of its refining operations.

By maintaining this channel, the US Treasury is balancing sanctions enforcement with the need to avoid broader economic disruption in the region.
