Rescue operations in northern Venezuela are entering a critical phase as international teams continue to search for survivors and recover victims from the rubble of collapsed buildings.
An Argentine rescue team is currently navigating the debris of the OPP-25 building in Tanaguarena, a town 40 kilometers northeast of Caracas, where a children's party was taking place at the time of the disaster.
The 12-story structure appears as only four stories above ground, with the remaining eight floors buried under a massive pile of concrete following the twin earthquakes that struck earlier this week.
Authorities have so far recovered 60 bodies from the site, underscoring the severity of the structural damage in the region.
The official death toll from the twin earthquakes continues to climb, even as some international rescue teams begin to withdraw from the hardest-hit areas.
An Israeli Defense Forces delegation, led by Brigadier Elad Edri, has also been on the ground assessing damaged buildings and categorizing structures as unsafe for occupancy.
