Md Anwarul Haque has been elected chairman of the executive committee at Mercantile Bank PLC.

The appointment was confirmed during the bank's 490th board meeting, according to a press release from the lender.

This move completes a recent leadership transition at the Dhaka-based bank.

Earlier, MA Khan Belal was elected chairman of the board of directors, also during the 490th board meeting.
