Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR Senate group, has declared he will withdraw from the public spotlight if his party votes in favor of the Veștea government.
The statement, made during a television interview on Antena 3, marks a significant escalation in the internal tensions surrounding the new administration's confirmation process.
He argued that taking a side in the conflict between the presidential administration and the opposition would result in losses for the right-wing bloc.
Peiu's ultimatum comes amid reports that President Nicușor Dan and the Social Democratic Party (PSD) are exerting pressure on AUR to support the cabinet.
According to earlier reports from Digi24, Peiu had previously stated on social media that such pressure would force AUR into a conflict with other political parties, a scenario he described as detrimental to the party's long-term interests.
The senator emphasized that AUR should not align itself with either of the two main political camps in the current dispute.
He argued that taking a side in the conflict between the presidential administration and the opposition would result in losses for the right-wing bloc.
