The Mexican Institute of Social Security Housing Fund (Fovissste) and the state government of Quintana Roo have signed a coordination agreement to implement free deed registration for housing loans.
The initiative is designed to facilitate the cancellation of mortgages and streamline administrative procedures at the Public Property Registry.
Under the terms of the agreement, the process for formalizing property ownership will be expedited, removing financial barriers associated with deed issuance.
This structural change is intended to reduce the backlog of unregistered properties and provide legal certainty to borrowers who have fully repaid their housing credits.
The announcement coincides with the delivery of documents to 200 families, confirming the liquidation of their housing credits.
These families received official paperwork accrediting the settlement of their debts, marking the first tangible outcome of the streamlined process.
