The Indian telecommunications sector reported a 6.9% year-on-year increase in gross revenue for the quarter ended March 2026, reaching ₹1.05 lakh crore.

The industry-wide growth was driven by Reliance Jio, which posted the highest individual revenue at ₹32,467.88 crore, reinforcing its market leadership position.

The data, reported by Hindu Businessline, underscores the resilience of India's telecom market despite ongoing competitive pressures.

Adjusted gross revenue (AGR), a key metric that includes service sales and government levies such as license fees and spectrum usage charges, rose by 9.45% to ₹86,716 crore.

This expansion in AGR indicates that operators are not only growing their core service income but also benefiting from higher regulatory contributions, reflecting a broad-based improvement in sector health.

The consistent revenue growth suggests that the industry's consolidation phase has stabilized, allowing major players to focus on margin expansion and network investment rather than purely price-driven customer acquisition.
