Norsk Tipping's online betting platform is currently offline, preventing users from logging in just 45 minutes before a scheduled football match.

The outage has disrupted access to the operator's services at a critical moment during the World Cup, when betting activity is typically at its peak.

Stian Simensen, a senior advisor at Norsk Tipping, confirmed the technical difficulties to VG, stating that the company is working urgently to resolve the login issues.

The timing of the disruption is significant, as Norsk Tipping has kept its Oddsen lottery open around the clock during the tournament, a move that has drawn scrutiny from gambling addiction advocates concerned about increased exposure and nighttime betting.

The outage comes amid broader operational challenges for Norwegian state-owned enterprises.

While Norsk Tipping grapples with digital infrastructure stability, other sectors are facing structural shifts; Norwegian shipping companies, for instance, have seen a sharp increase in vessels leaving the Norwegian International Ship Register (NIS), with 50 ships flagging out since the start of 2025.
