Sterling Bank of Asia has selected Infosys Finacle as its core banking platform, opting for a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model to drive its next-generation digital transformation.

The agreement, announced jointly by the parties, positions the Philippine lender to modernize its infrastructure through EdgeVerve Systems, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian IT major Infosys.

The deal highlights the growing demand for cloud-native banking solutions among regional financial institutions seeking to enhance agility and reduce capital expenditure on legacy systems.

By adopting a SaaS model, Sterling Bank of Asia aims to accelerate time-to-market for new financial products while leveraging Infosys' AI-first technology stack to improve operational efficiency.

Infosys has been aggressively expanding its Finacle footprint in emerging markets, targeting banks that are undergoing digital overhauls.

This win adds to the company's portfolio of core banking implementations in Asia, reinforcing its position as a key vendor in the financial technology sector.
